At the begining of November we had the oppurtunity to visit auditorium at the Psychiatric clinic FNHK. We had a meeting with miss Bc. Jana Štěpánková who introduced us to the world of canisterapy. We were immediately welcomed by the assistance dog Olaf. A 4-year old float coated retriever. We found out how he got to Hradec Králové, what all his work entails and how he managed to change lives of many patients as well as their oppinions on dogs. He even showed us his most favorite toy and honored us, when he let us throw him balls. I am very glad for this experience. I got answers to my questions, learned a lot of interesting information not only about canisterapy but also about dogs and their personalities. So if there is a chance to go once more, I won't hesitate a second to go and see Olaf again.
