On 21. March 2023 we organized our first event for World Down Syndrome Day. We joined forces with students from the Košice Pharmacy Students' Association, the Slovak Pharmacy Students' Association in Bratislava and the Pharmacy Students' Union in Brno, so a coffee stands appeared in the corridors of each of our faculties. Pizza snails, muffins, cupcakes, coffee with and without milk and last but not least tea, were available in our Hradec café, which served refreshments to people passing by in the corridor of the faculty from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
In total, we collected 2,195 CZK here in Hradec. We rounded it to CZK 3 000, which we sent to the association DownSyndrom.cz, which prepares events for people with this congenital syndrome, educates the public and promotes the rights of people with Down syndrome. Student associations from other faculties also sent the proceeds to the same association.
I believe that students, doctoral students and faculty employees enjoyed the goodies from our cafe and took away a good feeling of helping others.
