Like every year, this April, specifically on the 16th, we joined forces with medical students and organized a Health Day at Aupark. Medics brought tonometers and glucometers, set up a stand for self-examination and resuscitation, dentists demonstrated the proper technique of teeth cleaning, and we pharmacists provided people with professional knowledge. How did we do it? Using borrowed cardboard boxes from a training dummy, we showed people interesting facts about common medicinal products that people often don't know: how the effect of a medicine can affect a simple grape, that for example, addiction can develop from ordinary Olynth nasal drops, or even how to distinguish between dry and wet coughs. Some visitors even asked us for specific advice, such as recommendations for cramps in seniors.
I believe that each of the visitors took away some interesting information and has a better idea of what the work of a pharmacist entails. I'm already looking forward to next year!
