On the last day of november, we went on a trip to Dresden. In the capital of Sachsen, we were welcomed not only by pleasant sunny weather but, most importantly, by the breathtaking atmosphere of the Christmas Markets. The stalls were full of traditional treats (from chimney cakes, deliciously smelling roasted wursts or sausages, to many types of fish specialties), mulled wine and beautiful handcrafted goods. For days after the trip, my jacket still smelled of sausages and everything else. I was pleasantly surprised by Dresden's rich history and culture. I spent the whole day walking around the historic town center and admiring local sights and monuments, decorations and the Christmas spirit of the people. I am glad I could be a part of this event. I can't wait for more trips with the association!

On Saturday, November 30th, right before the first Advent Sunday, we went to the Christmas Markets in Dresden. In early morning hours we departed from the dormitory Na kotli, heading towards Germany. Thanks to arriving in the morning, we had the chance to explore Dresden during the day and plan our own itinerary based on our preference, especially thanks to the short brochure full of great tips from the organizer of the trip. As the hours passed and darkness began to fall onto the town, Dresden transformed into a city of lights, and the view of the Christmas markets and decorations in the streets at night was beautiful and full of glow from the lights. Once our eyes were satisfied from admiring the moving figurines on the roofs of the stalls, we went to satisfy our taste buds, which were overwhelmed by the omnipresent delicious scents from the stalls. Mulled wine, warm eggnog and bratwurst or currywurst, were a must. And so, impressed and full of new experiences and pleasant times we boarded the bus back to Hradec.
